Dieser Schnitt hat mich elektrisiert (gesehen bei etsy). Eine Mini-Tournüre, die durch ein paar Falten entsteht - genau das richtige für meine Zylinderfigur, die ohne Hohlkreuz praktisch gar keine Kurven hätte. Und alles aus einem Stück.
I bought this pattern in a size 8 which was much to small for me. So I flattened the front dart and and added the required width at the front and centre back. And I knew from the start, that I wanted the skirt in my usual knee length.
Der Schnitt in Größe 8 (34?) war mir viel zu klein. Ich habe die Abnäher etws flacher gemacht und die restliche Weite an der vorderen und hinteren Mitte zugefügt. Außerdem wollte ich den Rock von Anfang in meiner gewohnten Knielänge machen.
This skirt is very much a wearable muslin. I used an old mangle cloth looking something like this (minus the stripes). The linen has a curious herringbone weave (or is it normal that you see the pattern from the front, but not from the back?). It is thick and fairly soft so it does not produce accordeon creases, but still the skirt loses a bit of shape during the course of a day. Its next incarnation will be a brown summer wool with a pinkish pinstripe.
Dieser Rock ist eher ein tragbares Probestück. Ich habe ein altes Mangeltuch vernäht, das ungefähr so aussah, nur ohne Streifen. Das Tuch ist in einem sonderbaren Fischgrätmuster gewebt (oder ist es normal, dass das Muster nur auf der rechten Stoffseite zu sehen ist?). Es ist dick und weich, so dass es nicht unbedingt Akkordeonfalten produziert, aber im Lauf des Tages wird der Rock doch etwas formlos. Seine Inkarnation wird braune Sommerwolle mit einem pinkigen Nadelstreifen.

I hate waistbands, so I made a facing instead. Ich hasse Taillenbünde, also habe ich einen Beleg gemacht.
This is the facing of the hem. I only show you this, because this pink rayon(?) once weighed down the hem of an incredible cocktail dress of my mothers. It was made by a genius dressmaker my grandmother knew from before WWII.
Hier der Saumbeleg, den ich nur zeige, weil diese rosa Viskose(?) einst den Saum eines unglaublichen Cocktailkleids meiner Mutter stabilisiert hat. Das Kleid hat eine geniale Schneiderin gemacht, die meine Großmutter wohl schon vor dem 2. Weltkrieg kannte.
I think I like this skirt really well. The front looks like a normal A-line skirt, but the hem is gigantic. So I can move, and the skirt moves with me.
Der Rock gefällt mir wirklich gut. Von vorn sieht er aus wie ein A-Linien-Rock, aber der Saum ist wunderbar weit, ich habe volle Bewegungsfreiheit und der Rock schwingt mit.
